Tentgardening and the EZ Button

Well, today we accomplished a major breakthrough in our LARGE tentgardens.

We were successful in designing and creating a one piece tent covering made of Tunnet
netting to slide right down over the top of the 6′x10′ or 10′x10′ galvanized steel frames.
This cuts installation time tremendously and gets rid of most all of the pipe clamps.

We are really proud of this product improvement and the folks at Pegs Canopy for
making it happen!

Our new tent covering will be shipped with every order starting today! Get yours in time to
extend the fall growing season! Large tentgardens can be purchased at both of our online stores. Go to http://www.sfgsupply.com or http://tentgardens.com

Dry? Not So Much…

Yes, the Central Florida drought appears to have ended! Lot’s of rain has come our way and along with it, the beginning of a new hurricane season.  Regular watering has kept the garden going, but there’s nothing like that rain from heaven to kick those veggies into high gear… probably a couple of inches taller since this rain!

If you’re using our netting products to keep the bugs off your cucurbits, make sure you keep an eye on what’s blooming. As the female flowers open up, you’ll need to pollinate them with a q-tip, artist’s paint brush, or your finger. Just take some pollen from the male flower and transfer it to the female flower. It only takes a second and you only have to do it once. You an also pull of the male flower,  peel back the yellow bloom, and dab it onto the center of the female flower (it has a baby veggie under the bloom). Before you know it, those baby veggies will be big enough to tote back to the kitchen!
